Hey, great read as always. I’ve been thinking about this alot myself, especially with all the new AI art tools popping up; it makes me wonder about the cost of all those pretty pictures. It's true that the distinction between training and inference makes a lot of sense, but the thought of those massive energy "stadiums" still gives me a bit of a shiver.

I think it's easy to be astonish about the AI art and completly forget about the energy impact
